Revised First date

It all started April 26th, the 4H group was packed and ready for the trip to the Dells. it’s the first time any of us has been there. Devin and myself were sitting in the back seat of my mom’s van, anxiously talking about what we would be doing for the overnight stay. My mom’s the 4H leader, and she was driving thirteen of us on this trip. Devin and I have been friends since third grade and this being the end of 7th we knew each other pretty well. We set off singing along with some of my favorite Kid Rock songs though Devin did fade out after awhile about two hours into the drive.
‘I wonder what’s wrong; did I do something?’ was the only question spinning inside my head until I finally asked.
“It’s nothing I’m just sorta bored,” Devin grins at me. ‘Oh crap, she’s bout to ask for my handheld to play slots’ was my thought response. Then sure enough she asked to play slots on my handheld casino thing. I took it out of my pocket and typed a short message into the screen, it read ‘Would you go out with me?’ God, I was shaking when I handed her that seemingly innocent gift. She snatched it away as if I was going to tease her with it. Then I saw it, the slight pink come to her cheeks, a whiteness through out the rest of her face, and her eyes take on a far away dreamy look. I was confused at this point, I’ve never seen her act like this before, she handed it back to me and told me.
“Get the machine to the slot game,” the way she said it could refreeze the north pole. I did as commanded as she sat there quietly playing my game while I slowly drifted asleep thinking ‘God, if I don’t wake up go easy on me up there, or Lucifer see you soon.’
“Ok we’re here,” my mom yelled over the racket of unloading the van. I blurrily looked around and noticed the absence of Devin, she was no longer sitting next to me. In a panic I grabbed my bag and headed inside the giant hotel, I glanced Devin’s bag turning around the corner, so I ran after her in time to see one of the suite doors shut. I went over to that door and knocked. Kelly, my moms BIG friend, answered with:
“Devyn go to your guys’ room across the hall. We’re keeping guys and girls separate. ‘what a bitch!’ was my thought regarding Kelly. Slowly I sulked over to our suite, and was blown away with the smell of my favorite, black, bitter beverage in the whole world, coffee. The smell woke me up fully, and the yellow wallpaper, elaborate paintings, right down to the size of the suite blew me away. So I went to the room I’d be sharing with my brother, slammed the door locking him out, changed into my swim suit, laid on the bed, and watched TV. I stayed sulking when I heard the entire group go to the indoor pool. ‘I’ll go tomorrow’ was my simple yet effective reasoning. Koty, my brother, came back around 11pm so I handed him his bags and he decided to get changed in the bathroom and then crash on the couch leaving me alone. About 11:30pm the room got a call I immediately picked up without thinking.
“Hello room 117,” I answered.
“Hay Devyn?” it was my cousin Nikky who was calling from next door.
“Yeah what do you want,” my signature icy nature immediately kicked in.
“she says yes,” Nikky tells me and I hear Devin in the background yelling at Nikky.
” so umm why don’t you come over here?” I immediately hung up and went across the hall to great my now girlfriend. Before I even knocked Devin had the door open and was pink from head to toe, easy to tell in her bikini. Well she first shyly grabbed my hand sat me on the bed that the couch folded out into in the living room. I noticed the girls had purchased a movie and was playing it, I waited as the title came up “Hide and seek” was the title. After that Devin pushed me from behind my back, sat on me and gave me a massage. 4 hours later she got off me and fell asleep on me. ‘well forget about not sleeping together’ was my only thought as I doze off myself into a long dreamless sleep. When we woke up we went swimming together. The entire time we didn’t talk at all the entire day which is very weird. It took us forever to finally open back up and be comfortable with each other but it was a long wait I would easily do again.
